Enquire about Michael Simpson

Sculptor at Richard Cooper & Company Art in Bronze.

Although Michael studied fine art at Staffordshire Polytechnic it was the traditions of his home town Stoke-on-Trent which inspired his love for sculpture.

There are few sculptors who can produce emotive and detailed studies covering diverse subjects such as wildlife and the human form. Michael is one of the few who can achieve this goal working from reference books, his own drawings, photography and observation.

Michael is unusual in another way in that he is one of few sculptors preferring to model in clay. Mostly wax is used for its versatility but Michael loves the freedom clay offers and is quite content to work around its limitations.

Michael has a unique ability to design extremely accurately and yet with a loose contemporary feel making his style easily recognised and much appreciated by collectors.
