Joanna has been an artist and printmaker for over thirty years and has worked in many fields of art and design. These include designing furnishing fabric, tapestry needlepoint and greeting card designs for companies including Primavera, Anna French, The National Trust and Liberty, as well as selling paintings and prints in galleries, both in the UK and abroad.

Her background is in in textile design so pattern, texture and colour are what excites her. Recurring themes include birds, trees, gardens and flowers. Joanna's aim is to create a unique and beautiful surface, experiment with mood and colour, and produce variations on a theme. It’s all a bit of an adventure really.

Joanna uses both mixed media and intaglio prints to create her designs. Printmaking allows her to explore variations on a theme. She enjoy the process of layering different media, often combining watercolour with gouache, soft pastels, coloured pencils and inks on the same piece.

Selected artworks and designs are digitally printed onto velvets, silks and linens to create unique textiles for both fashion and the home, including luxurious silk scarves and linen cushions. Everything is printed and sewn in the UK, within ten miles of where Joanna lives in the Peak District.
