RAINCOAST RE-UNION

Depicts creatures in the delicately balanced eco-system of Canada’s Rain Coast where Grizzly Bears return to the same rivers each year to feast on Salmon.
The Bears eat the most nutritious parts of the Salmon – leaving the remains in the forest – which fertilizes the trees.
The trees have been found to contain huge quantities of nutrients (largely Nitrogen 15 isotope i.e. “ δ15N”) derived from the Salmon – which accounts for up to 85% of their mass.
Other plants such as grasses are also fertilized by the fish remains – ensuring a rich vegetable food supply for the Bears in the months before the Salmon run begins.
I am almost as interested in the aesthetic quality of fonts and chemical symbols as in the beautiful synchronicity of the eco- system!
