The Saltbox Gallery, contemporary art and fine craft gallery specialist in contemporary designer jewellery and blacksmithing we are situated in the centre of Helmsley, a busy rural market town, 12 miles from Malton,  25 miles from York and Stokesley. Further east towards the coast is the North Yorkshire Moors and the seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough. The art and fine craft gallery is nestled amongst an area of outstanding natural beauty: Helmsley is home to Duncombe Park, Helmsley Castle, the Walled Garden and the magnificent Castle Howard is close by.

Handmade garden terracotta pots.We have several designs of beautifully hand made terracotta pots   all of  which have a ten year guarantee.  Our Rhubarb forcers are  similar to those featured at the Chelsea Flower show this year, if you are visiting you will see other of our selected makers work in the gardens.

Recently completed the spring show with great interest in our rings Exhibition with Erica Sharpe, Pamela Dickinson and more, New paintings by Claire West.   Ceramics  by Janet Stahelin Edmondson and Michelle Freemantle.  New project by Saltbox Artist Kane Cunningham, coverage in The Times - Knipe Point.

Jewellery designers that will be showing at the gallery include, Continuing Saltbox Gallery jewellers include Rauni Higson, Michael Peckitt, Jessica Briggs, Jacqueline Warrington, Paul Spurgeon, Lilian Busch and Emma Gale.

Other applied crafts on show at the gallery include ceramics, wood, glass and textiles. Sculptural pieces by artist blacksmiths and stone carved interior and exterior pieces are on show in the lovely garden facing the historic Helmsley Castle.
